One of his recent books, Serengeti : The Eternal Beginning, received high praise from Jane Goodall, Richard Engel, Chief Foreign Correspondent for NBC News, actor/eco-activist Ed Begley, Jr., and others. His newest is Conservation Photography Handbook: How to Save the World One Photo at a Time.
He has been published in most major magazines in this country and abroad, including Time, National Geographic, Smithsonian, The New York Times, Natural History, Audubon, Geo, Stern, Outdoor Photographer, Conde Nast’s Traveler, Outside, Sierra, Vogue, Playboy, and others.
In 1980 Robert Redford presented him an award, on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency, for his “important, exciting environmental photography and writing.”
In 2015 the Sierra Club selected him to receive the Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography.
