The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International is dedicated to the conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. They are committed to promoting continued research on the gorillas and their threatened ecosystems and to providing education about their relevance to the world in which we live. In collaboration with government agencies and other international partners, they also provide assistance to local communities through education, health, training and development initiatives.

Baikal Watch

Baikal Watch’s objective is to achieve permanent protection of Lake Baikal and its Siberian and Mongolian surroundings, and to restore the integrity of the environment throughout the region by:

Promoting the growth of the local environmental movement and of regional grassroots organizations in particular; Educating the local public, and providing for the participation of the people in making regional environmental policies; Strengthening the rule of law in this part of the world; Supporting the development of economic alternatives, such as ecotourism, and other sustainable activities.

International League of Conservation Writers

The International League of Conservation Writers is a forum to bring writers together from around the world who are writing to promote wilderness, nature, conservation, or using other means to protect and restore the natural areas, habitats, animals, and plants of our planet. ILCW presents periodic writing awards to authors who excel in this field.  Boyd is a Founder and Fellow of ILCW.
